Nongnooch Tropical Garden Pattaya Holds New Year Alms-Giving Ceremony to Welcome 2026
Starting the New Year with Merit: Nongnooch Pattaya hosts a traditional Buddhist alms-giving ceremony to usher in prosperity and happiness for the year 2026.
On January 1, 2026, at 7:00 AM, Nongnooch Tropical Garden Pattaya, led by Mr. Kampon Tansacha (President) and Ms. Nanta Tansacha (Executive Director), alongside the management team, staff, and tourists, gathered for a New Year’s Day alms-giving ceremony. This auspicious occasion marks the first day of the year, offering a symbolic "opening of the gates" to happiness and prosperity for individuals and their families, while setting a positive intentions for progress and success throughout the year.
This annual ceremony is a long-standing tradition at Nong Nooch Pattaya, reflecting the organization’s commitment to preserving beautiful Buddhist customs and fostering a spirit of community through collective merit-making.
Ceremony Highlights
• Participants: 19 monks from 9 different temples in the Sattahip District were invited to receive alms, including dried food and rice.
• Blessings: Following the alms-giving, the monks provided formal blessings and led the water-pouring ceremony (Grod Nam) to dedicate merit and ensure good fortune for all attendees.
Special New Year Activities (January 1–4, 2026)
Beyond the religious ceremony, Nong Nooch Pattaya is hosting special festive activities to delight visitors of all ages:
• Elephant Shows: Performances by talented and "clever" elephants.
• Live Music: Festive performances by the Nongnooch Band.
Spiritual Landmarks
Visitors during the New Year period are encouraged to pay respects to the various sacred sites within the garden for continued good luck, including:
• The Nine Temples (Phra Kao Wat).
• The Buddha Grace Museum.
• Buddha statues representing birth dates, Lord Brahma, and Ganesha.
• The "Representative Buddha Statues of the World" project, which will eventually feature 16 statues (10 are currently completed).
