The Lodovica Maldivica coconut tree presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to Nongnooch Pattaya garden.
The President of Nongnooch Pattaya Garden Mr Tansacha Kampon is extremely delighted and happy that the Lodovica Maldivica tree Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn planted almost twenty two years ago on 9th March 1999 at Nongnooch Pattaya Garden has produced fruit.
Today, The Lodovica Maldivica tree is very strong and healthy producing three very large fruits all at the same time weighing approximately fifteen kilograms each. Currently, there are thirty six Lodovica trees in Nongnooch Pattaya Garden, four of which are male, seven are female, and the remaining twenty five are still unknown. At present each Lodovica tree is valued at between four hundred thousand to half million baht and each fruit valued at around one hundred thousand baht.
