“Annual Elephant Health Checkup at Nongnooch Garden Pattaya – Caring as if Family”
On September 17, 2025, at 8:00 AM, at the Elephant Camp of Nongnooch Garden Pattaya, Chonburi Province, the National Elephant Institute, Lampang Province, under royal patronage, led a team of more than 10–15 veterinarians and staff to conduct a thorough health examination of the elephants. This included random blood tests, collecting health data, and providing medical supplies for comprehensive elephant care.
Mr. Kampon Tansacha, President of Nongnooch Garden Pattaya, stated that the garden places great importance on elephants because they are not just domestic animals but a national symbol. “Every elephant here is cared for as if they are part of our family. We must ensure regular health checkups, proper nutrition, and a suitable environment so they can live strong and happy lives. I believe that this collaboration with the National Elephant Institute to carry out health inspections and data collection reaffirms that we are caring for elephants according to scientific principles and international standards.”
This inspection is part of the “Mobile Veterinary Project for Elephant Health Surveillance and Database Development of Thai Elephant Population”, which aims to raise the standards of elephant care, ensuring they remain healthy, live in appropriate environments, and have accurate data recorded for long-term conservation.
Nongnooch Garden Pattaya’s Elephant Camp is recognized as the first establishment in Thailand to receive the Certificate of Good Practices for Elephant Camps from the Department of Livestock Development and the National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards. This reflects the commitment to scientifically based elephant care alongside conservation, ensuring that Thai elephants will remain a part of the nation for generations to come
