Nongnooch Garden Pattaya Organizes Candle Casting Ceremony for Buddhist Lent, Upholding a Cherished Thai Tradition of Worshiping 9 Temples in 9 Days
June 26, 2025 – Nongnooch Garden Pattaya, located in Chonburi Province, hosted the “Candle Casting Ceremony for 9 Temples in 9 Days” at the Garden in the Sky. The event was led by Mr. Kampon Tansacha, President of Nongnooch Garden Pattaya, together with Mr. Thawatchai Srithong, Governor of Chonburi Province, who presided over the ceremony. Local administrators and distinguished guests also participated in this meaningful cultural event, held to continue a cherished Thai tradition and to offer merit during the Buddhist Lent period.
The ceremony is being held from June 26 to July 4, 2025, and is open for tourists and the public to participate in the candle casting, which will be dedicated to nine temples in the area. The monastic ceremony was led by Phra Khru Kasemkittisophon, the abbot of Wat Samakkhibanpot. Mr. Kampon stated that Nongnooch Garden organizes this activity annually to promote Buddhism and serve as a center for learning about Thai culture for both locals and international tourists.
Distinguished attendees included Mr. Anusak Piriyamon, District Chief of Sattahip; Mr. Sombat Kaewpathum, Mayor of Kledkaew Subdistrict; Mr. Thanaphong Kotmanee, Mayor of Khao Chi Chan Subdistrict; and Ms. Rapheepan Rattanaliem, Mayor of Najomtien Subdistrict.
The candles will be offered to the following nine temples:
- Wat Yannasangwararam Worawihan
- Wat Sattahip
- Wat Samakkhibanpot
- Wat Najomtien
- Wat Amparam
- Wat Bang Sare Kongkaram
- Wat Khao Kanthamat
- Wat Nong Chab Tao
- Wat Subnaboonyaram
