Nongnooch Pattaya garden has been given 9 Montra flags from Bhutan to bring wealth, dispel disease and to welcome the New Year for a rich and healthy 2021.
On Monday 28 December 2020 Mr. Kampon Tansacha, president of Nongnooch Pattaya garden along with the management of Nongnooch joined a ceremony thanking Bhutan for the 9 Montra flags. The Montra flags are a symbol of good fortune to dispel disease. We have placed the flags at the top of the pillar at the Thai Deva Pavillion in Nongnooch Pattaya garden. We invited Phra Kru Kasem Kittisophon (Afarn Joi) Abbot of Wat Samakkhibanphot who kindly came to perform the anointing ceremony of the Montra flags to show success, victory and prosperity without any disease to welcome the New Year 2021.
The Nongnooch Pattaya garden has placed the Montra flags at the Thai Deva Pavilion because this is the place where the Buddha image of Luang Por SuKjai is enshrined which is sacred and revered by Buddhists to ask tourists of all nationalities to worship and pray to the “Motra flag” to bring prosperity to life, wealth, good luck, health without any harm but with added fortune to support an auspicious future for everyone who has come and worshiped at Nongnooch Pattaya garden. The meaning of Montra flag is “The horse of wind” the waving and blowing of good things to help strengthen the spirit, it will also bring good luck and gems.
The four corners of the flag consist of the four honours. Garuda is Knowledge, Dragon is Mercy, White Lion is Bravery and Tiger is Confidence. The above are all symbols representing the Buddha in his first Dharma show at the Isiptonmaruekkhathayawan forest. The text describes the prayers of Bodhisattva and various Deities such as Manchu Sri Bodhisattva, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, Vajrasana Bodhisattva, Amitabha Buddha, Amitayut Bodhisattva, Guru Pattama God of peace, God of punishment, Mother of Liberation (Tara), God of Destruction, Barrier and Mercy.
Our sincerest thanks to The Embassy of Bhutan for giving Nongnooch Montra Flags since 2018 and we wish Bhutan and its good people everything the Montra Flags stand for and portray.
